Position Objective
The Team Leader ensures the provision of effective service delivery to all existing and potential Regional Housing customers in accordance with core organisational values, established policies and procedures, funding guidelines and relevant legislation. The Team Leader provides guidance and support to the Housing Services Team by leading an effective allocation process, professional and compassionate assessments of customers’ needs, including ensuring the appropriate advice, support and/or referrals are considered.
The Team Leader will oversee and support tenancy management to customers of Regional Housing who are housed through social housing programs and participate in community engagement, including fostering relationships with key internal and external stakeholders in support of the Housing Services Manager.
Key Responsibilities
Lead, mentor and encourage a high-performing Housing Services Team
Oversee tenancy management, housing allocations and customer support services
Ensure compliance with legislation, funding requirements, policies, procedures and regulatory standards
Foster strong partnerships with community, government and industry stakeholders
Drive continuous improvement, quality assurance and service excellence initiatives
Support operational leadership through reporting, workload coordination, risk management and on-call responsibilities
Essential Criteria
Proven management experience in social or community housing, including leadership of multidisciplinary teams
Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder engagement skills
Demonstrated commitment to customer service and social inclusion
High‑level computing skills across the Microsoft Office suite
Positive Notice Blue Card (Working with Children Check)
NDIS Disability Worker Screening Clearance
Successful Police Check and employment validation
Current Queensland Driver’s Licence
Desirable
Tertiary qualifications in psychology, social work, or human services
Minimum five years’ experience in crisis or high‑support environments

You demonstrate empathetic, professional and calm leadership, even in high‑pressure or ambiguous situations. You show a strong commitment to ethical practice, integrity and customer‑centred service, ensuring decisions balance organisational priorities with the needs of clients and stakeholders. You are highly organised and detail‑focused, able to manage complex, multi‑layered matters while maintaining clear oversight of the day-to-day operations.
