Assistant Store Manager

We are a dynamic family-owned company operating independent supermarkets in the Central West areas of New South Wales. With a focus on fresh food, our vision is to deliver an exceptional shopping experience for our customers through a high consistent standard, everyday lower prices and by supporting our local communities. We are now seeking a motivated and passionate Assistant Store Manager to assist our Store Manager & lead our Fresh team in our Bathurst store.

About the Role:

This temporary full-time position of ASM (Assistant Store manager) requires a highly organised and capable individual who is responsible for the overall performance and operations of the Fresh departments & be the acting Store Manager during the Managers absence. Ensuring the highest quality shopping experience by delivering a high standard through their various teams, whilst engaging effectively with customers to maximise sales and profit through effective planning, merchandising and inventory control. This role doubles as the Assistant Store Manager and will be overseeing many staff. 

Attention to detail is essential and the successful candidate will have an important role to play in the success of our business, ensuring the stores appearance, customer service, engaged /effective staff and operational functions are first class every day

Responsibilities:

• Outstanding customer service standards

• High standards in visual presentation and store standards

• Inventory management including ordering, stocktaking & updating of deliveries

• Quality and safety duties including receiving, inspecting and storing of product, whilst also maintaining date and rotation of products

• Profit and loss management, including sales, gross profit and shrinkage budgets/targets

• Personnel cost management, including rostering

• Assist to coach, lead & provide ongoing support, training and development for your team

What we need from you:

• Previous management experience

• The skills to deliver on a consistent basis the three key outcomes, full, clean & ticketed. 

• Customer service focused

• Ability to engage, mentor and lead a team

• Understanding of supermarket best practice including management, inventory & merchandising

• Excellent communication skills
