Employment Support Officer – RAES

Laynhapuy Homelands Aboriginal Corporation (Laynha) is seeking a motivated and community-minded Employment Support Officer to join our Remote Australia Employment Service (RAES) team.

This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working with people, building strong employer relationships, and supporting job seekers to move into and stay in meaningful work. If you have strong administration, communication and coordination skills, and a passion for creating positive employment outcomes, we’d love to hear from you.

About Us

Laynha is a not-for-profit organisation supporting 30 homeland communities across East Arnhem Land for more than 40 years. We deliver essential services including healthcare, aged care, housing, community services, and land and sea management.

About the Program

RAES is a federally funded employment program delivered by Laynha across Arnhem Land. It supports local job seekers to build skills, overcome barriers, and move into sustainable employment through a flexible, strengths-based and community-led approach.

About the Role

As the Employment Support Officer, you will support participants to find and maintain employment by providing practical case management, connecting with employers, and offering ongoing support after placement.

In this role, you will:

• Work one-on-one with participants to develop job plans and pathways
• Match job seekers with employment, training and work experience opportunities
• Build relationships with local employers to identify vacancies and workforce needs
• Support participants with resumes, applications and interview preparation
• Provide post-placement support to help participants stay in work
• Assist employers to support new employees and address workplace challenges
• Monitor participant progress and employment outcomes
• Maintain accurate records, reporting and participant data
• Work closely with community stakeholders, training providers and internal teams

Skills and Requirements

• Strong administration, coordination and record-keeping skills
• Experience in employment services, workforce development or community services is highly regarded
• Experience working with employers or supporting employment pathways is beneficial
• Good computer skills, including Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook
• An understanding of remote community contexts and culturally safe engagement is valued
• Current Open Driver’s Licence
• NT Ochre Card and National Police Check (or ability to obtain)
• Willingness to travel to remote communities
