Casual Chef de Partie - The Gallery Café, AGNSW

An exciting opportunity exists for a passionate Casual Chef de Partie to join The Gallery Café culinary team at the Art Gallery of NSW.

Reporting to the Sous Chef and Head Chef, you will join a successful, professional and highly regarded hospitality group operating at some of Australia’s most iconic venues, including the Australian Museum, Melbourne Museum, Queensland Museum, Sydney Theatre Company and the Art Gallery of NSW.

This is a casual Level 6 position, offering approximately 38 hours per week across a Wednesday to Sunday daytime roster.

About the role

• Based at the Art Gallery of NSW
• Casual position (Grade 5, Level 6).
• Approximately 38 hours per week, Wednesday to Sunday daytime roster
• Work closely with the Sous Chef and Head Chef to ensure efficient food production and quality control
• Prepare and present high-quality café food in a fast-paced environment
• Grilling experience is highly valued
• Maintain the highest standards of food presentation, quality and cleanliness
• Contribute to menu changes inspired by gallery exhibitions
• Join a friendly, supportive kitchen team led by a strong Head Chef

About you

• Certificate III in Commercial Cookery, or equivalent relevant experience
• Experience working in a fast-paced café, restaurant or events environment
• Strong grilling and service skills are highly regarded
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills
• A genuine passion for cooking and willingness to learn new skills
• Valid working rights in Australia
