Children’s Medical Research Institute (CMRI) was Australia’s first dedicated paediatric research facility and is now one of the world’s most highly regarded independent medical research organisations.

Our research focuses on the four key areas impacting children’s health: cancer, genomics and genetic diseases, neurobiology, and embryology.   Work with a team of dedicated professionals We're looking for either an experience Research Assistant or Staff Scientist to provide expert services for the Single Cell Analytics Facility and CellBank at Children’s Medical Research Institute (CMRI), while also supporting other CMRI Research Facilities as needed.

What can you bring to this role? We are seeking an outgoing and dynamic Research Assistant or Staff Scientist with a passion for laboratory science and stakeholder engagement. The ideal candidate will excel at building relationships with facility users and stakeholders through in-person communication, scientific presentations, and written correspondence.

A strong understanding of cell platforms, the specific laboratory equipment, and related software is essential. In this role, you’ll demonstrate advanced lab methods, ensure high-quality specimen preparation, and apply your critical thinking and time management skills to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
