• Cleaning kitchens, food preparation areas, service areas and sculleries to maintain safe and hygienic workplace standards.
• Cleaning cooking equipment, trays, dishes, pans, food preparation tools and general utensils used in the kitchen and food service areas.
• Assisting with transferring, weighing, checking, unpacking and storing food supplies, ingredients and kitchen equipment.
• Assembling and preparing ingredients for cooking, including washing, peeling, cutting, portioning and organising ingredients.
• Preparing simple salads, savouries, sandwiches, sides and other basic food items under supervision.
• Packing food and beverage trays, takeaway orders and delivery orders for serving as directed.
• Cooking, toasting, reheating and heating simple food items where trained and instructed by kitchen staff.
• Emptying bins, removing waste, cleaning spills and maintaining clean and organised back-of-house areas.
• Following food safety, hygiene, cleaning, stock rotation and workplace health and safety procedures.
• Assisting cooks, kitchen staff and service staff during busy service periods.
• Completing opening, closing and cleaning tasks according to workplace procedures.
• Reporting low stock, equipment issues, maintenance concerns or hazards to the supervisor.

Requirements:

• At least 1 year of relevant kitchen, food preparation, hospitality or cleaning experience is preferred.
• Formal qualifications are not mandatory.
• Food safety training or willingness to complete workplace food safety induction is desirable.
• Previous experience in a pizza, takeaway, café, restaurant or fast-food environment will behighly regarded.
• Applicants must have lawful authority to work in Australia for the hours required by the position.
