About the role
Bowden McCormack Lawyers is looking for a Commercial Lawyer with 2–5 years PAE to join our Darwin office.
We are looking for an experienced commercial lawyer who wants to develop their practice, take on more responsibility and grow with the firm.
The roleYou will work across a broad range of commercial matters, including:
commercial and retail leasing;
business and property sales and purchases;
commercial agreements and contracts;
negotiations;
corporate and governance matters;
due diligence and transactions; and
general commercial advice.
There is also the opportunity to work in other areas of the firm, including wills, estate planning and probate, litigation and dispute resolution and native title, depending on your experience and interests.
Our clients include corporates, government, not-for-profit organisations, Indigenous corporations, businesses and individuals, providing plenty of variety in both the work and the clients you work with.
You will be self directed, managing your own matters and working directly with clients, while working closely with our senior lawyers and partners.
About youWe are looking for someone who:
has 2–5 years PAE, with experience specifically in commercial law;
has experience across a range of commercial matters, particularly leasing, sales and purchases, contracts and negotiations;
has strong drafting, negotiation and communication skills;
can manage their own matters, priorities and deadlines;
is confident dealing directly with clients;
works well both independently and as part of a team; and
is admitted, or eligible for admission, as a legal practitioner in the Northern Territory.
Experience working in the Northern Territory, particularly with corporate, government, not-for-profit or Indigenous clients, would be well regarded. Experience in wills and estates would also be useful, but isn't essential.
