At Ochre Medical Centre King Island, you’ll join a tight-knit team in an accredited teaching practice backed by dedicated nursing support and THS visiting specialists.

The Role

Looking for a true Rural Generalist role with complete clinical variety and a lifestyle most people only get to experience on holiday? Positioned within the King Island District Hospital building in Currie, this position offers the ultimate mix of outpatient general practice, emergency care, and inpatient hospital management for a island community of 1,700 locals.

Working alongside 2 GP colleagues in a purpose-built 3-room facility, you’ll deliver bulk-billed primary care while covering the hospital on-call.

Co-located within King Island District Hospital, featuring on-site walk-in pathology, appointment-based X-ray, dedicated treatment room, and a 1-minute drive (5-minute walk) to Currie town center.

Skills & Experience

• Specialist Registration or General Registration with AHPRA.
• FRACGP or FACRRM (or eligible rural pathway doctor).
• Current Emergency Skills (ALS2 / REST or equivalent for VMO hospital coverage).
