Electrical Project Engineer

We are seeking an experienced Electrical Project Engineer to join our project delivery team delivering hybrid power on a major mine development project in regional Queensland. This is a site-based role working a 2/1 roster, with travel arranged from Brisbane.

Reporting to the Senior Project Engineer, you will be responsible for but not limited to: Planning, coordination, and delivery of electrical works packages, ensuring compliance with technical specifications, safety standards, and project schedules.

What You’ll Do As Electrical Project Engineer

Manage and coordinate electrical scope of works, including HV/LV reticulation, substations, switchrooms, and associated infrastructure.Review and interpret electrical design documentation, drawings, and specificationsCoordinate subcontractors and electrical trades to ensure works are delivered safely, on program, and to specificationPrepare and manage electrical work packages, including scopes of work, procurement, and construction schedulesLiaise with client representatives, engineers, and other project stakeholders.Monitor and report on progress, cost, and quality against project targets.Identify and manage project risks, variations, and changes in scope.Support commissioning and testing activities, including liaison with commissioning engineers.Ensure compliance with relevant Australian Standards, AS/NZS wiring rules, and site-specific HSE .requirementsContribute to the development of construction methodologies and ITPs for electrical worksParticipate in site safety inductions, toolbox talks, and incident investigations as required.

You Are

Minimum 2 years' experience in an electrical project engineering role within construction, mining, or heavy industrial environments.Tertiary qualification in Electrical Engineering (Degree or Advanced Diploma)Experience delivering HV/LV electrical infrastructure works on greenfield or brownfield sites preferred.Strong understanding of Australian Standards and electrical safety requirements (AS/NZS 3000, HV switching, isolation procedures)Experience working with EPC or construction contractors on resource sector projects highly regarded.Proficient in MS Office, document control systemsExcellent communication and stakeholder management skills.Valid driver's licence; willingness to travel and work FIFO/DIDO on roster, initially a 2/1 roster although could be subject to change.Current Construction Induction (White Card); mine-specific site inductions can be completed prior to start.
