Headquartered in Broome, Western Australia, BRAMS provides holistic, culturally safe primary healthcare, aged care, and community programs to Aboriginal people throughout the Kimberley region.

About the Role

BRAMS is looking for an Outreach Aboriginal Liaison Officer to join our Clinical Services team. Reporting to the Community Health Manager, you'll sit at the front line of our community engagement work  delivering outreach via the Orange Sky Truck and building trusted relationships with vulnerable and homeless Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people across Broome.

This is a role built on relationship and presence. You'll reach people who may not otherwise access health services, offer practical support and health system navigation, and connect community members to BRAMS primary health care through warm referrals and coordinated clinic attendance  all delivered in line with the BRAMS Model of Care and Quality Care Framework, with a strong emphasis on culturally safe, person-centred, and trauma-informed practice.

What you'll do:

• Operate and deliver outreach services via the Orange Sky Truck in line with scheduled activities.
• Engage respectfully and non-judgementally with people experiencing homelessness or vulnerability, in a culturally safe way.
• Build rapport and trust through consistent community presence.
• Help individuals understand and navigate BRAMS services and available pathways.
• Identify barriers to accessing care and actively support clients to overcome them.
• Coordinate transport and clinic attendance to ease access to BRAMS primary health care.
• Provide referrals and handovers to clinical staff, working collaboratively to support continuity of care.
• Liaise with Orange Sky Australia and other community service providers to align outreach efforts.
• Maintain accurate records of outreach activities, client engagement and referrals.
• Identify and escalate risks, safety concerns, or safeguarding issues per BRAMS policies.

About You

To be successful in this role, you must address the following selection criteria in your cover letter:

Essential:

• Demonstrated experience engaging with Aboriginal people and communities in a culturally safe and respectful way.
• Experience working with vulnerable or homeless individuals in a community or outreach setting.
• Ability to engage, build rapport, and communicate effectively with people from diverse backgrounds.
• Current Australian Driver’s Licence

Desirable:

• Certificate III in Aboriginal Primary Health Care
• Certificate IV in Community Services or a related qualification
• Experience working within a primary health care, outreach, or Aboriginal Community Controlled Health Service environment.
