About the Role:We are looking for a Funeral Director to join our growing team at Tender Funeral Canberra Region in providing meaningful, affordable funeral options for our community. Experience is welcome, but not a requirement; we’re looking for the right person, not a specific resume.

About us:Tender Funerals Canberra Region is a not-for-profit funeral service delivering meaningful and affordable funerals. We also provide community education opportunities to empower communities and build their capacity in the death and dying space.
We are looking for:A new full-time team member. Part-time positions of 3 o 4 days a week may be considered.

The role will require:Meeting with families to arrange funeralsWorking in our mortuary to provide basic mortuary care, ceremonial washing and dressing with staff, volunteers and familiesTransferring the deceased into our careBooking and conducting funeralsParticipating in our community education eventsWorking with and supporting volunteersContributing to a 24/7 on-call roster for support and transfers To be successful in this position, you will need to meet the following criteria:A commitment to strengths-based community developmentWillingness to work within the Tender CredoA person-centred approach to funerals and death careWillingness to work in the mortuaryBe willing and available to contribute regularly to the on call roster for transfers, phones and arrangementsUphold and contribute to a healthy workplace cultureProficient computer skills and willingness to learn and use new technologyHold a current unrestricted Australian driver's licenceAbility to drive manual preferredWillingness to undergo a police check and obtain Working with Vulnerable People (ACT) and Working with Children (NSW) cardsAbility to prioritise tasks and manage own workloadHave good communication skills, both on the phone and in personBeing physically fit to carry out the duties
