Apprentice Landscaper

Ridgway Landscapes is a long established business specialising in residential construction jobs in Southern Sydney.

We are seeking an enthusiastic person to join our small dynamic team as a first or second year apprentice, undertaking all roles to learn the trade and become a qualified tradesperson. The successful candidate will also be required to attend TAFE one day per week for three years as part of their employment.

The position is full time with the usual benefits of annual leave, public holidays, superannuation, etc.

Shirts, jumpers and tools are provided.

The successful candidate will have a current manual driver's license, car, previous experience in landscaping or labouring, good work ethic and  initiative, reliability, honesty and self-motivation, be well presented with good written and oral communication skills, a desire to gain a trade in landscaping, be able to work in a small team and take direction, will be fit, healthy and be prepared for physical work.

The successful candidate will be well rewarded in learning all aspects of the trade, work in and around the Sutherland Shire with our small experienced crew and be paid above the award wage.

 
Duties and tasks will include but not limited to:

Occupation health and safety issues relating to all aspects of a working day

Site specific design, plan reading and quantifying materials

Assisting with site establishment and logistics

General labouring

Demolition and learning excavator operation

Correct/safe use of power and hand tools

• Formwork, steel fixing, placing and finishing concrete slabs and footings

Brickwork, blockwork and sandstone masonry.

Paving, Tiling

Decking and timber work.

Retaining walls

Pool renovations and landscaping

• Planting and mulching

• Irrigation
