Health and Safety Advisor

We're seeking a proactive Work Health & Safety Advisor who enjoys being on site, working alongside crews and leaders, and helping create a safe, positive and high-performing workplace. This is a hands-on role focused on coaching, mentoring and supporting our operational teams across multiple civil construction projects.

Reporting to the HSEQ Systems Manager, you will provide practical WHS support across our metropolitan projects while promoting a positive safety culture through engagement, education and continuous improvement.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Providing day to day WHS advice and support to project teams.

• Conducting site inspections, observations and risk assessments.

• Coaching supervisors, leading hands and crews to improve safe work practices.

• Supporting incident investigations, including root cause analysis and human factors.

• Assisting with audits, corrective actions and continuous improvement initiatives.

• Delivering toolbox talks, safety briefings and one-on-one coaching.

• Supporting compliance with the Work Health and Safety Act and Regulations.

• Promoting compliance with BOS Civil's Safety Management System and ISO standards.

• Completing relevant reporting and administrative tasks associated with the role.

• Building strong working relationships with employees at all levels of the business.

You are someone who enjoys being in the field, building relationships and influencing positive safety outcomes.

You'll bring:

• Previous experience in a Work Health & Safety role/civil construction role in the industry.

• Good working knowledge of the Work Health and Safety Act, Regulations and industry best practice.

• Experience conducting risk assessments and supporting safe systems of work.

• An understanding of incident investigations, root cause analysis and human factors.

• Strong observational, problem solving and communication skills.

• The ability to confidently engage with site crews, supervisors and management.

• A practical, solutions focused approach with the ability to adapt across multiple project environments.

• A genuine desire to contribute to a positive safety culture and workforce development.
