Trainee/Dog Trainer Position - BamBam & Co.
About the role
We are an indoor dog training facility in Hume running specialised dog-to-dog social groups, supported by individualised training programs for small dogs (under 12kg).
We also run group classes and workshops for pet dog owners.
This position is suited to someone looking to build a career in the canine industry and develop as a professional dog trainer.

The Responsibilities
You will be responsible for the management, training and care of groups of up to 30 small dogs (under 12kg), working alongside one or two other trainers.
This includes:
• Maintaining a clean facility
• Being responsible for teaching skills such as engagement, recall, leash communication, handling drills, and structured play
• Active supervision of dog-to-dog interactions
We deliver a high level of customer care, so you’ll need to enjoy building and maintaining warm relationships with our client community.
Position Details
• Starting pay: $30 per hour (with increases based on reliability, skill, and performance)
• Beginning as a 5 day per week casual position with hours 25-38 hours per week (between Monday - Friday, 7:30am–5:30pm)
• Becoming a full-time position for the right person after a 3-6 month probation period
Professional Development & Growth
• Ongoing coaching in reading dog-to-dog social behaviour
• Learning how to design training plans to develop socially skilled dogs
• Mentoring across basic to advanced dog training skills
• Opportunities to move into class instruction and contribute to educational programs
• Autonomy in your role, with responsibility for your student dogs’ training standards and behaviour maintenance
