About the role
We are seeking an experienced and motivated Components Rebuild Manager to lead the operations of a busy underground mining components rebuild workshop.
This is a key leadership position responsible for overseeing the safe, efficient and cost-effective rebuild of underground mining equipment components, while ensuring high standards of quality, reliability and delivery are consistently achieved.
You will lead a team of tradespeople, supervisors and support personnel, working closely with maintenance, engineering, planning, procurement and site operations to ensure rebuilt components are delivered to specification and within agreed timeframes.
Key Responsibilities
Manage the rebuild, repair and overhaul of major underground mining components and equipment.
Develop and maintain workshop schedules, priorities and production targets.
Lead, coach and develop a high-performing team of tradespeople and supervisors.
Ensure all rebuild work is completed safely, efficiently and to required quality standards.
Monitor workshop performance against key measures including safety, quality, cost, productivity and delivery.
Ensure rebuild processes, inspection requirements and quality assurance systems are consistently followed.
Manage labour, tooling, equipment, facilities and workshop resources effectively.
Work closely with maintenance and site teams to understand component requirements and priorities.
Liaise with suppliers, OEMs and external service providers where required.
Identify opportunities to improve workshop productivity, component reliability and overall cost effectiveness.
Ensure accurate component tracking, job costing, documentation and reporting.
Drive a strong culture of safety, accountability, continuous improvement and operational excellence.
Ensure compliance with company policies, statutory requirements and relevant mining industry standards.
About You
To be successful in this role, you will ideally have:
Previous experience managing a components workshop, heavy equipment workshop or similar maintenance operation.
Strong knowledge of underground mining equipment and component rebuild processes.
Demonstrated leadership experience within the mining, heavy industry or mobile equipment sector.
A strong understanding of mechanical components, hydraulics, powertrain systems and heavy mobile equipment.
Experience managing workshop budgets, labour, resources and production targets.
Strong planning, organisational and problem-solving skills.
The ability to build effective relationships across workshop, maintenance and site teams.
A practical, hands-on leadership style with a strong focus on safety and quality.
Excellent communication and people-management skills.
A commitment to continuous improvement and operational efficiency.
