About the role

The Senior Clinician provides expert mental health care and clinical leadership for children and adolescents with complex developmental disabilities. The Senior Clinician works with psychiatry and multidisciplinary teams to manage challenging cases, offer consultation, and supervise staff across the Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service.

Key duties of the role

• Responsible for a direct clinical case load.
• Undertake the assessment of, and the development of formulations for, both individuals and families to determine appropriate interventions.
• Implement evidenced-based individual, family and/or other group therapies.
• Provide child & adolescent mental health education and training.
• Provide written reports detailing results of assessments in a clear, concise manner.

Skills and Experience

• Appropriate degree or equivalent qualification which gives eligibility for full membership of the Australian Association of Social Workers, OR
• Appropriate degree or equivalent qualification and general registration with the Psychology Board of Australia within an endorsed for clinical practice; OR
• Appropriate degree of equivalent qualification which entitles registration as an Occupational Therapist with the Occupational Therapy Board of Australia, OR
• Appropriate degree or equivalent qualification which gives eligibility for full membership of the Speech Pathology Association of Australia.
• Demonstrated experience in developmental disability and child and adolescent mental health work.
