RESIDENTIAL LOCATION: Perth/Kalgoorlie

WORK SITE: Binduli & Golden Cities

ROSTER: 2:1 - 12 hrs (Dayshift/Nightshift) (Residential or FIFO from Perth)

WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING

As a Blast Hole Driller at Norton Gold Fields, you are responsible for overseeing all aspects of drilling operations, ensuring the safe and efficient completion of daily activities in alignment with relevant plans and objectives.

• Perform pre-start checks on equipment, inspect work areas, and ensure proper housekeeping of drill patterns and rigs.

• Report equipment faults and maintain clear communication with the maintenance department.

• Safely service drill rigs and transport drill rods and consumables on and off-site.

• Ensure all drilling activities meet required parameters, and quality control standards, and are conducted according to relevant procedures.

• Conduct risk assessments (e.g., Take 5’s) and ensure appropriate safety measures like barriers, signage, and delineation are in place.

• Complete and submit accurate drill logs to the site supervisor and act as Blast Guard during blasting activities, if required.

ABOUT YOU

• At least 12 months of Open Pit drill and blast experience (Essential).

• Current, unrestricted Western Australian Class “C” Driver’s Licence (Essential).

  • Heavy Rigid "HR" Driver's Licence (Desirable).

• Previous experience in an Open-Pit/Cut mining environment (Desirable).

• Strong commitment to safety and a team player.

• Experience with Atlas Copco drilling fleet (Desirable).

• Good understanding of the following machines:

  • Epiroc T45 and D65 drill rigs.

• A fully covered Death and Total & Permanent Disability (TPD) insurance or allowance up to $2.4k.
