About the role
The position of Occupational Therapist Rehabilitation will:
Deliver high level occupational therapy rehabilitation services for children and their families as a part of the interdisciplinary team within the statewide role of Queensland Paediatric Rehabilitation Service (QPRS) within a tertiary paediatric hospital. Provide day to day clinical supervision and support to less experienced occupational therapists, other clinicians and allied health assistants within the Queensland Paediatric Rehabilitation Service (QPRS), across the hospital and statewide.

About The Role
In this role you will coach and support others to deliver for children, young people and families (Leader of Others) in accordance with the Children's Health Queensland Leadership Excellence Framework and the Queensland Public Service and the CHQ values. Your contribution will include:
Clinical Practice
Deliver high level occupational therapy rehabilitation clinical services for children with conditions including acquired brain injury, spinal cord injury, cerebral palsy (CP) and limb deficiency within the statewide role of the Queensland Paediatric Rehabilitation Service (QPRS) and within a tertiary paediatric hospital in accordance with prescribed professional and ethical standards, with minimal direct clinical supervision.Apply professional judgement to a complex caseload, adapting routine clinical practice using valid and reliable evidence.Utilise continuous high-level problem solving and critical thinking skills to support clinical reasoning, being able to adapt to non-routine clinical practice using valid and reliable evidence on a daily basis with infrequent need for direct clinical practice supervision.Work flexibly across all caseloads within QPRS in response to changing clinical demands.
Communication / Team Participation
Provide high level clinical advice about occupational therapy rehabilitation services to diverse stakeholders.Actively contribute to service and caseload management and planning within the interdisciplinary team.Provide high level liaison with internal and external stakeholders of QPRS and work cooperatively and effectively within the interdisciplinary team and with clients, their families, community groups, other health professionals, supervisors and students.Accurately and concisely record all patient interaction as well as workload measurement statistics, to facilitate the analysis of service trends.Actively participate in a working environment supporting quality human resources management practices including employment equity, anti-discrimination, work, health and safety, and ethical behaviour.
Leadership / Service Improvement
Monitor and report on clinical practices and outcomes within clinical service area.Provide leadership in, and participate in quality, research and service improvement activities.Actively participate in initiating, developing and implementing quality improvement activities to enhance the delivery of occupational therapy, rehabilitation services and multidisciplinary care.Provide clinical practice supervision, education and mentoring to less experienced occupational therapists and other clinicians.Provide educational and operational direction to assistant and support staff and supervision and education to work experience or observational occupational therapy students.
