About The Role
As a Registered Nurse – Drug & Alcohol at Acacia Prison, you’ll play a key role in supporting inmates affected by substance use issues through assessment, referral, counselling, and case management. This is a full time role based in Wooroloo, WA.
Working as part of a multidisciplinary health team, you will contribute to:
Promoting the rehabilitation and reintegration of inmates Ensuring the safety and security of inmates, staff, and the community Providing a respectful and professional environment for staff, inmates, and visitors
This role allows you to make a real difference by supporting individuals with complex needs while maintaining high standards of clinical care within a secure setting.
What You’ll Bring
Current unrestricted registration as a Registered Nurse with AHPRAMinimum 2 years’ clincal experience in mental health and/or drug and alcohol programs (full-time or part time equivalent)Relevant post graduate qualifications in mental health or drug and alcohol; or working towards same; or extensive experience working in drug and alcohol fieldExperience in conducting health assessments and case management of patients health care Strong understanding of drug and alcohol issues, dual diagnosis, and chronic diseaseSound knowledge of common mental health concernsCultural awareness across diverse backgrounds and contemporary issues
