Junior DJ Wanted — Paid Training Pathway (Private Events, Perth)

About the role

Diesel Productions is hiring junior DJs for private events across Perth, think birthdays, school formals, corporate functions, private events, and weddings . This isn't nightclub DJing. It's about reading a room, keeping energy up, and delivering a genuinely great client experience.

Training and support

• Trained in the Diesel Productions system by our senior team, a proven approach to music structure, crowd reading, mic confidence and client prep, built on over a decade in the industry

• No experience needed, just a real passion for music and the drive to grow into the role

• Everything is provided: equipment, music library, and gear, no need to own anything prior

• Paid training from day one, with a clear path to progress into paid gigs once you're ready

• Structured training pathway combining hands-on lessons with real gig experience, so you're learning by doing, not just watching

• Ongoing mentorship, you're never thrown in the deep end, senior DJs, MC’s and the team are there to support you as you grow

Tasks & Responsibilities

• DJ exclusively for Diesel Productions events (this is a core part of the role - see note below)

• Train under our senior team and complete milestone-based progression

• Prepare playlists based on client briefs and requests

• Set up and pack down provided PA and lighting equipment to a professional standard

• Represent the brand with a strong dress code and presentation

• Build great relationships with clients on the night

• Some events may be filmed or photographed by Diesel Media for marketing and social content

A note on exclusivity
This role is genuinely a training investment on our end. You'll be coached, mentored, and booked consistently as part of the Diesel Productions team, not as a freelancer picking up random gigs. In exchange, DJs work exclusively for Diesel Productions events while employed here. We think that's a fair trade: no chasing your own bookings, consistent training, consistent work.

• Music lover with broad taste across genres

• Quick learner who takes feedback well

• Client-focused, friendly, and calm under pressure

• Organised, reliable, and always on time

• Confident speaking to a crowd (or keen to build that confidence)

• Available Friday and Saturday nights

Don't apply if

• You're chasing nightclub or festival DJing

• You want to build your own DJ brand on the side

• You're unreliable or treat weekend commitments casually

• You're not open to playing outside your own personal taste

• Only want to play a specific genre or your own music style

• Are not open to training, feedback, or improvement

• Are uncomfortable performing solo at events

• Are not prepared to be part of a team

Requirements

• Hold a valid driver’s licence

• Have reliable transport (minimum 4-door hatchback to fit equipment)Driver’s licence + reliable car

• Comfortable lifting and setting up basic equipment

• Happy to follow checklists and systems
