AIN / CARE WORKER

About the role

ST GEORGE & SHORE VISITING NURSES is seeking compassionate and dedicated AIN / Care Workers to join our team on a casual basis. This is an excellent opportunity to work in aged care nursing within the Sydney metro area, providing vital support to elderly and vulnerable members of our community in thier home. As a casual team member, you will have the flexibility to work according to your availability whilst making a meaningful difference in the lives of our clients. This role is integral to delivering high-quality, person-centred care in the aged care and disability care sectors.

Key responsibilities

• Provide direct personal care and support to aged care and disability clients, including assistance with activities of daily living such as bathing, dressing, toileting, grooming and general cleaning

• Monitor and report changes in clients' health status, wellbeing and behaviour to nursing staff

• Assist registered nurses with clinical tasks and procedures as directed

• Maintain accurate and timely documentation of care provided and client observations

• Support clients' emotional and social needs, promoting dignity, independence and respect

• Light cleaning to maintain a safe and clean environment for clients, adhering to infection control and hygiene standards

• Communicate effectively with clients, families, healthcare team members and other staff

• Respond compassionately to client requests and concerns

• Contribute to a positive and collaborative team environment

What we're looking for

• A Certificate III in Aged Care, Health Services Assistance or equivalent qualification

• Current First Aid and CPR certification

• Working With Children Check (WWCC), National Police Clearance, NDIS worker check

• Proven experience working in aged care or disability care settings

• Strong compassion, patience and empathy for elderly clients

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team

• Reliability, professionalism and commitment to client-centred care

• Knowledge of aged care & NDIS standards, infection control and occupational health and safety practices

• Flexibility to work various shifts, including early mornings, evenings and weekends as required

• Must have a reliable car - registered and insured
