The Role

We are looking for a dedicated and empathetic Community Engagement & Memorial Site Consultant to connect with families, community groups, and businesses to build lasting client relationships, and help them navigate end-of-life planning.

In this role, you will be responsible for educating clients on our comprehensive range of memorialisation options, focusing on Palmdale's new Asian Cultural Memorial Garden, “Lotus Garden” which offers burial plots & cremation family estates with carefully curated Granite & Bronze monuments designed with cultural reverence. You will work closely with families to listen to their personal wishes and cultural needs, ensuring every detail reflects their loved one’s life with dignity and respect.

Key Responsibilities

• Build Partnerships: Proactively build and nurture a pipeline of prospective clients interested in both pre-planning and at-need memorial sites, through strong relationships with Funeral Directors and bereavement professionals along with existing customers.

• Community Outreach: Engage with Cultural groups, churches & temples.

• Bilingual Communication: Effectively communicate, consult, and assist families in both English and Chinese (Mandarin/Cantonese preferred), ensuring total clarity during a difficult time. Provide a calming, supportive and trustworthy presence to help ease the decision-making process for grieving or panning families.

• Client Consultation: Meet with families to understand their specific preferences for burial, cremation, and personalised memorial plaques.

• Property Tours: Guide customers through the beautifully landscaped grounds to help them select the perfect final resting place.

• Event Coordination: Host informational seminars and community open days

• Team Collaboration: Work with Palmdale's Memorial team to produce complete relevant legal documentation .
  

What We Are Looking For

• Fluent Bilingual Skills: Must be highly proficient in both English and Chinese (written and spoken).

• Deep Empathy & Compassion: The ability to provide highly sensitive, respectful, and patient customer service.

• Excellent Communication: Strong interpersonal and empathetic listening skills.

• Sales & Relationship Building: Demonstrated ability to develop a customer base and guide customers through tailored choices. Awareness of Churches & Social groups on the North Shore frequented by residents with Chinese Heritage.

• Respect for Chinese Culture & Tradition: Deep respect and understanding of Chinese cultural practices and diverse faiths.

• Autonomy: ability to manage your own schedule and travel.

• Funeral or Cemetery Experience: Experience in the funeral, cemetery or aged care sectors, ideally in community liaison or sales role is highly valued.
