About the role
In this role, you will support individuals living with mental health challenges to build independence, connect with their community, and live fulfilling lives. This is a Casual position offering a mix of Community Access and Supported Independent Living (SIL) shifts, providing flexibility for those who enjoy both in-home support and getting out into the community.
Current Vacancies:
Northern suburbs – female, Muslim support worker required. In accordance with the genuine occupational requirements of this role and the participant's cultural and support needs, we are seeking a female, Muslim support worker for this position.
Additional shifts – female support workers required. Several of our current vacancies involve providing care to female participants, and in accordance with genuine occupational requirements, we are seeking female support workers for these roles.
Key responsibilities
Facilitate social and recreational activities to promote wellbeing and community engagement
Provide emotional support and build positive, trusting relationships
Advocate for clients' rights, ensuring their needs are met with empathy and respect
Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver person-centred support plans
Maintain accurate documentation and client records
Follow all relevant health, safety, and quality standards
Assist clients with daily living activities, including personal care, meal preparation, and household tasks
About you
Experience in mental health and/or disability support work
Experience with Community Access and/or SIL
Warm, compassionate, and non-judgmental approach
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
Adaptable and responsive to client needs
Certificate III or IV in Individual Support (Disability) or equivalent
Experience delivering person-centred care
Valid driver's licence and reliable vehicle with insurance
Current Working With Children Check (Employee)
Current NDIS Worker Screening Check
