Concord Hospital, which is affiliated with the University of Sydney, is a large teaching hospital with 750 beds. The hospital offers various specialties and subspecialties, many of which are nationally and internationally recognised as centres of excellence. These services include burn treatment, colorectal surgery, laparoscopic surgery, molecular biology and genetic laboratory, aged and extended care, gastroenterology, and palliative care.
This is a permanent full-time position in the Specimen Reception area within the Diagnostic Pathology Unit. Specimen reception is a critical area of the Diagnostic Pathology Unit that ensures specimens are appropriately handled, labelled, and documented according to established protocols and regulatory requirements.
What you'll be doing
Contribute to a high-quality pathology service. Perform pathology specimen reception duties including receiving and triaging of specimens, patient registration and request entry, specimen processing and preparation for transport or delivery to laboratories for timely accurate diagnostic testing.
