Field Technician – QLD

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced field technician to join our Next Payments team. We are looking for an enthusiastic person with proficient technical skills, who is a strong communicator, and who can proactively and professionally deliver technical support to our clients.

Reporting to the Team Leader, QLD Field Services, this role will see you responsible for the delivery of quality field technical services during business hours and for afterhours break/fix responses, whilst adhering to the delivery of services to agreed service levels with clients.

The Role

This role will provide you with invaluable experience and opportunity for growth all whilst working in a passionate, safe, and friendly workplace culture.

You will apply your acquired technical skills and experience to perform the following principal duties:

• Help with the overflow of deployment work which mainly includes installation and relocation of ATMs and CRTs.
• Installation, relocation, repair, and preventative maintenance of ATM/Cash Recycler/Coin recycler/Cash Express/Cash Redemption Terminal/EFTPOS.
• Participate in an alternating on-call roster shared amongst field technician team, including afterhours break/fix response, covering our service hours of 0800 – 2200, 7 days a week (standard business hours outside of on-call responsibilities).
• Ability to work independently at customer sites.
• Attend and resolve assigned service requests in a timely manner.
• Complete accurate and detailed service report (update, closing notes and parts used).
• Cooperate and liaise with technical team and share information across the organisation.
• Maintain company supplied assets (vehicle, tools, mobile phone, computer etc) in a clean and tidy manner and schedule servicing of assets as per manufacturer’s recommendations.
• Maintain suitable stock levels in vehicle to ensure part availability when attending service calls.
• Escalate/discuss unresolved issues, service improvements and enhanced operating techniques to your manager.
• General warehouse duties including stock take, light bench repair, refurbishment, and staging of devices.
• Maintain professional presentation and demeanour while delivering quality service to all customers.

About You

• Minimum 2 years’ experience as a Field Technician
• Experience in the ATM, Gaming/EFTPOS industry would be highly regarded
• Strong communication skills
• Friendly team player
• Must have manual driver’s license, with clean driving record
• Logical thinker
• Intermediate computer skills
• Technical aptitude
• Willingness to obtain ‘Gaming machine technician licence’ and ‘Casino special employee licence’ with fees covered by company.
