CPB Contractors, together with fellow CIMIC Group companies, UGL and EIC, is proud to be driving the ground-up development of a multi-megawatt data centre in Truganina in the western suburbs of Melbourne. Our expertise will seamlessly integrate complex systems across mechanical, electrical, plumbing and fire, power and telecommunications among much more.  

The 80 MW data centre will consist of two adjoining 40MW data centres featuring complex internally integrated electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, fire protection, ICT and security​ systems. Construction will also involve extensive external inground services works, modular electrical equipment including HV / Fire protection facilities construction and civil finishing works​.

Your opportunity

This is a complex, large-scale build where strong commercial discipline, attention to detail and the ability to build relationships will be critical to success. You'll be joining an experienced project team and taking ownership of the contract administration function from procurement through to final account.

You’ll play a key role in the commercial performance of the project. From subcontract procurement and contract management to variations, forecasting and risk, you'll work closely with project leaders and subcontractors to help keep the project on track.

What you'll be doing

• Lead the administration of subcontractor and supplier contracts throughout the project lifecycle
• Manage variations, progress claims, subcontractor payments and contractual correspondence
• Support procurement activities, including tender evaluations, subcontractor engagement and negotiations
• Monitor project costs, budgets, forecasts and overall commercial performance
• Contribute to monthly reporting, cost reviews and financial forecasting
• Identify and manage commercial risks, opportunities and contractual issues
• Build strong working relationships with project teams, clients, subcontractors and suppliers
• Mentor and support junior members of the commercial team 

What you'll bring

• Proven experience as a Senior Contracts Administrator on major construction, infrastructure or engineering projects
• Strong knowledge of contract administration, procurement, variations and subcontract management
• Sound commercial acumen across budgeting, cost control, forecasting and reporting
• Experience identifying and managing contractual risk and commercial outcomes
• Exposure to Tier 1 or other large-scale complex projects will be highly regarded
• Strong stakeholder management, negotiation and communication skills
• The ability to balance competing priorities in a fast-paced project environment
• A degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management or a related discipline
