Silanna’s UVC LEDs enable chemical-free disinfection and sensing at deep and far UV wavelengths, helping customers meet stringent performance and safety standards.Role Description The Equipment Engineer MOCVD/MBE is a full-time, on-site role based in Pinkenba, QLD. This role is responsible for the day-to-day operation, maintenance, and optimization of MOCVD and MBE tools used in advanced semiconductor and LED manufacturing. Key tasks include performing preventive and corrective maintenance, diagnosing equipment issues, coordinating repairs with vendors, and implementing improvements to enhance uptime, process stability, and safety. The engineer will collaborate closely with process, production, and automation teams to support yield targets, document procedures, maintain equipment records, and ensure compliance with cleanroom and EHS standards.QualificationsStrong skills in Equipment Maintenance, Maintenance & Repair for complex semiconductor manufacturing tools.Demonstrated ability in Troubleshooting equipment faults, diagnosing root causes, and implementing corrective actions.Background in Mechanical Engineering with experience in vacuum systems, gas delivery, thermal management, or related hardware.Experience with Automation systems, including tool control software, PLCs, or integration with MES for equipment monitoring and control.Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Mechatronics, or related field) or equivalent practical experience.Experience working with MOCVD or MBE equipment in a semiconductor or LED manufacturing environment is highly desirable.Solid understanding of cleanroom practices, safety protocols for hazardous gases and chemicals, and EHS compliance.Effective communication skills, ability to collaborate in cross-functional teams, and a structured approach to documentation and reporting.Proven ability to work independently, manage priorities in a high-uptime production environment, and support occasional after-hours or on-call maintenance needs.
