Cost Estimator - Electrical (Contract - Day Rate)

StratMonk is seeking an experienced Electrical Cost Estimator to join the tender team for a major data centre project in Sydney.This is a specialist pre-contract role for an estimator who is confident building electrical estimates from first principles and has strong hands-on experience with CATS.
The OpportunityYou will play a key role in developing a robust, competitive and commercially sound tender price, working closely with engineering, procurement and the wider tender team.
Your responsibilities will include:Developing first-principles electrical cost estimatesBuilding detailed labour, material, plant and subcontractor costsReviewing drawings, specifications, scope and construction methodologyEstablishing quantities, productivity assumptions and ratesUsing CATS for estimating and cost build-upReviewing subcontractor and supplier pricingIdentifying scope gaps, risks, exclusions and opportunitiesSupporting value engineering and resolving tender queries
About YouYou will be an experienced electrical estimator who can build an estimate from the ground up, with:Strong electrical estimating experience on major construction projectsProven first-principles estimating capabilityHands-on CATS experienceStrong understanding of electrical construction, productivity, materials and installation costsAbility to interpret drawings, specifications and tender documentationA practical, commercial approach and the ability to work to tight tender deadlines
