Financial Controller

Unlike traditional agencies, we manage the entire project lifecycle from pricing strategy and campaign development through to sales, settlement and handover, all under one roof. With more than $3 billion in projects scheduled to launch and national expansion already underway, we’re entering our next stage of growth.

As we scale, we’re bringing our finance function in-house and creating a Financial Controller role at our Brisbane head office.

To date, our payroll and accounts have largely been managed externally. You’ll take control of the numbers, build the systems and become the trusted finance partner to our leadership team.

This isn’t a back-office accounting role. Reporting directly to the Managing Director and holding a seat on our executive leadership team, you’ll have real decision-making power and a clear runway to grow into a Head of Finance or CFO position as the business expands.

What you’ll be doing

You’ll own the finance function end to end, combining hands-on delivery with the strategic thinking a growing business depends on.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Own and manage cash flow forecasting and working capital across the business and its projects.
• Manage commission payments and tracking across sales teams and developments.
• Take ownership of accounts payable and accounts receivable end to end.
• Manage payroll processing and the transition of payroll in-house.
• Deliver accurate, timely management and leadership reporting, along with commercial analysis.
• Own the month-end close, reconciliations and reporting cycle.
• Maintain financial controls, statutory and tax compliance, liaising with our external accountant and advisors.
• Provide financial and commercial advice to the Managing Director and leadership team to guide decision-making.
• Lead financial strategy, budgeting and forecasting.
• Take on ad-hoc projects and responsibilities as the business grows.

About You

You’ll be a commercially minded finance professional who is as comfortable owning the detail as you are advising the leadership team.

You’ll ideally bring:

• Proven experience as a Financial Controller, Finance Manager or in a comparable senior finance role.
• CA or CPA qualification will be highly regarded, though strong hands-on finance experience is what matters most.
• Broad experience across the full finance function including cash flow, accounts payable and receivable, payroll, month-end, reporting and compliance.
• A strategic, proactive mindset with the ability to anticipate issues and act before they arise.
• Confidence providing commercial advice and influencing decisions at a senior level.
• Strong systems skills and a track record of improving finance processes and controls.
• Experience in property, development, construction or project-based businesses will be highly regarded.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to build trust across the business.
