Market Development Director / Strategic Business Development Manager

We are currently investing in our Chemicals and Integrated Services businesses and recruiting for an energetic and results driven Market Development Director / Strategic Business Development Manager. This position is based in Brisbane QLD (Hybrid).

You will be responsible for:

• Develop & close new Chemicals business opportunities to achieve double digit growth rates
• Develop a pipeline which will be recurring at a minimum 4 X Gap to plan at all times
• Identify opportunities to grow direct or through development of Channel Partners
• Promote Digital solutions
• Provide Technical support and guidance to customers as a Water Technologies & Solutions Leader as required across Oceania for Dustreat and any other relevant applications.
• Identify and pursue new business opportunities across multiple service lines in QLD, PNG, and New Caledonia
• Develop and execute strategic plans to achieve revenue targets and market expansion
• Analyze market trends, competitor activities, and customer needs to inform business strategy
• Create integrated service packages that deliver comprehensive solutions to clients
• Retain, gain, and grow new and existing customers while protecting margin and profitability
• Prepare BFQs (Budgetary/Formal Quotations) and proposals ensuring profitability and alignment with business targets
• Prepare service and maintenance quotations for RO, UF, MF plants, including refurbishments, spare parts, membranes, renewal of service agreements, and minor projects
• Develop quotations for all forms of ion exchange and filtration opportunities

The ideal candidate will possess the following:

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Commerce, or Science
• Ability to travel locally approximately 30-40% of the time
• A minimum of 10 years of experience preferably selling and/or marketing complex solutions and/or technical sales in the Water Treatment industry; this can be supplemented with strong project execution or field commissioning abilities in a customer-facing capacity
• Strong external focus, with ability to assess customer value of performance, price, operating & maintenance costs, availability and operability
• Motivated self-starter with a demonstrated leadership style showing capabilities to accelerate change and work in a rapidly changing environment.
• Operate independently and deliver business results while demonstrating leadership through action.
• Proven analytical skill set and strategic mindset with strong competence in value proposition analysis and market maps
• Excellent written and verbal communication
• Demonstrates a keen understanding of basic business operations and organizational levers (systems, processes, departments, functions) that drive profitable growth
• Minimum of 5 years of experience preferably selling and/or marketing complex solutions and/or technical sales in the Water Treatment industry
• Ability to travel locally approximately 30-40% of the time
• Proven track record of meeting or exceeding revenue targets
• Strong understanding of solution selling and consultative sales approaches
• Excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation skills
• Ability to understand and articulate complex, multi-faceted service offerings
• Experience with CRM systems (Skywater/Salesforce) and sales analytics tools
