Join Green by Nature as an Apprentice - Sports Turf Management and embark on a rewarding four-year learning journey. Gain hands-on experience maintaining premium sporting surfaces, including cricket wickets, rugby fields and other high-performance sports turf facilities. Based on-site at Bellevue Hill, this apprenticeship combines paid, hands-on experience with formal training, equipping you with the skills, knowledge and nationally recognised trade qualification needed to build a long-term career in the industry.

Working alongside experienced professionals and expert mentors, you'll gain practical experience maintaining high-quality sports turf and landscapes while developing skills that can lead to future opportunities as a Team Leader or Site Manager.

Throughout your apprenticeship, you'll develop practical skills across a wide range of sports turf operations, including:

• Preparing and applying chemicals for pest, weed and disease control, including safe transportation and storage.
• Installing and maintaining drainage and pressurised irrigation systems.
• Operating and maintaining a variety of machinery and equipment.
• Improving soil health and plant nutrition to support healthy turf growth.
• Identifying and controlling weeds, pests, diseases and plant disorders.
• Renovating and constructing sports turf facilities.
• Following industry best-practice safety procedures and equipment operation standards.

Previous experience in sports turf management is not required. What matters most is that you're a reliable, hard-working individual who is motivated to learn, willing to take direction and eager to develop new skills. Your positive attitude and strong work ethic will set you up for success.

You are mature, professional and comfortable interacting with people from all walks of life.

You already have, or are willing to obtain, a White Card and Working with Children Check. A current driver's licence is also preferred.

You must be an Australian citizen to satisfy government requirements relating to the schooling component of the apprenticeship.
