Freezer Forklift Operator/ Warehouse Storeman

About the role

Temptation Bakeries is seeking an experienced Freezer Forklift Operator/Warehouse Storeman to join our dynamic warehousing and distribution team. This is a full-time position based in Chelsea Heights VIC 3196, where you will play a crucial role in managing our frozen product inventory and ensuring smooth warehouse operations. Your contributions will be essential to maintaining our supply chain efficiency and supporting the distribution of our bakery products to customers across the region.

What you'll be doing

• Operating forklifts safely and efficiently in freezer environments to move, stack and organise frozen bakery products

• Loading and unloading delivery vehicles with accuracy and care to prevent product damage

• Maintaining accurate inventory records and conducting regular stock checks to ensure product availability

• Accurate organizing and storing products in designated freezer locations following proper warehouse procedures

• Preparing orders for dispatch and ensuring they are correctly packed and labelled

• Performing routine equipment maintenance and reporting any forklift or warehouse equipment issues promptly

• Adhering to all health, safety and hygiene standards, particularly in frozen storage environments

• Assisting with general warehouse housekeeping and maintaining a clean, organised work area

What we're looking for

• Valid and current forklift licence or certification demonstrating competency in operating forklifts in freezer environments

• Proven experience working as a forklift operator or warehouse storeman, preferably in a cold storage or frozen goods facility

• Strong physical capability to work safely in freezer conditions and handle products of varying weights

• Excellent attention to detail with the ability to accurately record inventory and process orders

• Good organisational and time management skills to prioritise tasks and meet warehouse deadlines

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced warehouse environment

• Knowledge of warehouse safety practices and commitment to maintaining high standards of workplace safety

• Reliability and punctuality with a strong work ethic

• Basic computer literacy for inventory management systems is desirable
