General Manager – MICE & Business Development | The Ville Precinct

About the Role

This role will be responsible for driving revenue growth, developing strategic partnerships, enhancing market presence, and ensuring the successful delivery of conferences, events, entertainment and corporate functions across the precinct.

Working closely with Executive, Hotel, Food & Beverage, Marketing and Operations teams, you will champion a customer-focused and commercially successful events business
  
Key responsibilities:

• Drive the growth of MICE, conference, corporate and events revenue through strategic sales and business development initiatives.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with corporate clients, industry partners, tourism organisations and key stakeholders.
• Lead and develop high-performing sales, business development and event teams to achieve commercial and operational objectives.
• Oversee the successful planning and delivery of events, ensuring exceptional client experiences and service standards.
• Manage budgets, forecasting, profitability and performance metrics to deliver sustainable business growth.
• Ensure compliance with all relevant licensing, safety, risk management and operational requirements.
• Identify and implement process improvements that enhance efficiency, profitability and customer satisfaction.
• Provide strategic leadership and regular performance reporting to the CEO and Executive Leadership Team.

  
About You

To be successful in this role, you will bring:

• Relevant tertiary qualification in business, hospitality, tourism, events or a related discipline is desirable.
• Demonstrated senior leadership experience in large-scale events, hospitality, convention centres, tourism or comparable multi-site operations within a fast-paced and complex environment.
• Strong commercial acumen with accountability for revenue growth, profitability and client outcomes.
• Advanced stakeholder-management, negotiation, communication and relationship-building skills.
• Strong community connection is required
• Experience in attendance to trade shows and conferences is desirable.
• Hotel operations and booking systems desirable.
