Dental receptionist

About the role

This is a part-time position, initially 3–4 days per week, with the opportunity to increase to full-time hours as the clinic grows. The role is based in a friendly denture clinic and involves reception, patient bookings, phone and email enquiries, payments, records and general administrative duties.

Key responsibilities

• Greet and assist patients in a friendly and professional manner.

• Maintain a clean, organised and welcoming reception area.

• Manage patient appointments, bookings, cancellations and recalls.

• Process EFTPOS, cash and other payments and follow up on outstanding accounts.

• Keeping everything running smoothly at the front desk.

• Answer phone calls, emails and patient enquiries promptly.

• Register new patients and maintain accurate patient records.

• Liaise with dentists, dental prosthetists, laboratories and suppliers.

• Order and monitor dental and office supplies.

• Coordinate patient appointments with clinical and laboratory schedules.

• Assist patients with general enquiries.

• Manage Medicare, private health insurance and relevant dental voucher claims.

• Maintain confidentiality and comply with privacy and infection-control requirements.

• Assist the dental prosthetist with general administrative and clinic duties.
