About the role
The Volunteer Coordinator is responsible for recruiting, screening, onboarding and supporting volunteers to meet the operational needs of the Commonwealth Home Support Programme (CHSP), Australian Community Visitors Scheme (ACVVS), Care Finder and other approved MIC programs.
The role ensures an adequate pool of appropriately skilled volunteers is available to support clients from culturally and linguistically diverse (CALD) communities. The Volunteer Coordinator manages the full volunteer lifecycle, including recruitment, mandatory compliance, induction, training, records management, recognition and volunteer wellbeing. The position works closely with the CHSP Project Lead to ensure volunteers are recruited and matched according to client needs and service demand and provides direct client support for the Care Finder Program as directed by Care Finder staff. The role will support to implement the Volunteer Strategy for MIC.
Migrant Information Centre (Eastern Melbourne) (MIC) provides support to people from culturally and linguistically diverse (CALD) backgrounds residing in the eastern suburbs of Melbourne. The region covers the Local Government Areas of Boroondara, Whitehorse, Manningham, Maroondah, Knox, Yarra Ranges and Monash. MIC is governed by a Board of Directors.
