The Coordinator of Learning Enrichment (Middle School) supports the Aims and Values of the College by driving the development of 'best practice' strategies in all aspects of College operations and developing the distinctiveness of educational programs. The role focuses on supporting students with specific learning needs by fostering a genuinely differentiated curriculum, infusing the Christian ethos into daily practices, and recognising the value and uniqueness of each individual within the College community.

Key Accountabilities:

• Develop age-appropriate, challenging, and intrinsically motivating academic programs for students with Learning Enrichment needs.
•  Develop, implement, monitor, and regularly review individual education plans for students with specific learning needs in collaboration with key staff, students, and parents.
• Support class teachers in the implementation of personalised learning practices and a genuinely differentiated curriculum.
• Organise, administer, and analyze testing (including National Benchmarking, school-determined, and individual diagnostic testing) to refine teaching programs.
• Manage and organise internal and external Special Provisions applications and funding applications.
• Oversee NCCD for Middle School
• Teach classes, participate in the pastoral care program, and take sporting/co-curricular activities for at least one semester per year.

Major Areas of Responsibilities

Academic Support & Program Development: Through working with the Director of Learning Enrichment, support the ongoing refinement of the Scots ‘Model of Learning’ aligning with the Brave Hearts, Bold Minds strategic intent. Work with Academic Coordinators and Deans of Students to develop differentiated programs and support strategies. Refine teaching programs and learning experiences in response to data gathering and performance monitoring of students from Year 7 to Year 12.

Staff Development & Consultation: Assist staff in developing their understanding of learning needs across Boys Education, Cognition, effective differentiation, and authentic learning experiences. Ensure staff are continuously updated on developments in the education of students who learn differently. Liaise with Tertiary Providers, Specialists, and Consultants to ensure College practices remain ‘cutting edge’. Provide advice and support to Housemasters, Classroom Teachers, and Support Staff.

Assessment & Administration: Organise and administer National Benchmarking Testing (Year 7-9), school-determined benchmark testing, and individual diagnostic assessments. Analyse NAPLAN data and interpret Paramedical and Medical reports to implement effective support strategies. Manage special provisions, funding applications, and coordinate a structured ‘out of hours’ support program. Advise Housemasters on subject selections for students with specific learning needs.

Culture & Community Engagement: Provide regular communication to parents and develop a supportive group of parents and volunteers. Foster a culture that promotes excellence, mutual respect, and optimal achievement for all students, involving them in proactive reflection upon their own learning. Liaise with the College’s counselling team and other key staff to achieve a coordinated response to individual student needs.

Who are you?

• Qualification in education and be registered with The NSW Institute of Teachers/NESA

Essential Requirements:

• Required to be available outside ‘normal’ school hours, participate fully in the life of the school, attend meetings, and make presentations when necessary.

• Required to teach classes, participate in the pastoral care program, and take sporting/co-curricular activities.

• Required to take on extra duties that are assigned by the immediate superior or the Principal.
