Sous Chef

Pathways Residences is a luxury residential aged-care provider operating across Sydney. We are looking for a Sous Chef to join our team.

This position is specifically for a Sous Chef role.

37.5 hours and 5 days a week, regular shifts scheduled from Wednesday to Sunday.

This role will be hands on and "on the tools", but also require someone strong in managing the catering team.

About you:

• Enjoys creating high quality meals

• Experience in running a kitchen

• Minimum 1-2 years of kitchen management experience required

• Experience in aged care highly valued

• Confident in leading a team

• Experience managing teams of 10+ staff members

• Mature in leadership and well presented

• Accountable, organised, structured

• Certificate IV Commercial Cookery qualification required

The role:

• Is hands-on and requires you to cook daily

• Requires you to uphold high standards of compliance across aged care, food, hygiene, and safety

• Current food safety supervisor certificate required at time of application

• Is to provide restaurant quality dining experiences to our residents

• Requires you to direct kitchen operations and manage catering staff

• Requires you to oversee food preparation, cooking and cleaning

• Requires you to ensure all food products are fresh and of high quality

• Will see you work in collaboration with other Head Chefs, the Executive Chef, and other department heads, and will report to the Executive Managers of the sites.

All prospective employees are required to provide the following documentation:

• Current Police Check

• NDIS Worker Clearance

• 3 doses of Covid Vaccine and Flu Vaccine

• Australian citizenship or permanent residency required
