CAD Designer

About the role

Quietfire Pty Ltd is seeking an experienced and motivated CAD Designer to join our team. This role offers the opportunity to work on unique and challenging projects within the marine, industrial, and commercial sectors, contributing to the design and delivery of innovative engineering solutions. Based in Tasmania, you will work closely with project managers, engineers, clients, and production teams to develop detailed mechanical designs from concept through to manufacture and installation.

Key responsibilities

• Develop detailed 2D and 3D mechanical designs and drawings.

• Prepare manufacturing and installation documentation.

• Create and maintain accurate CAD models and design records.

• Liaise with project managers, engineers, suppliers, and clients.

• Ensure designs meet project specifications, industry standards, and regulatory requirements.

• Support the fabrication and installation teams with technical advice and design updates.

• Participate in design reviews and continuous improvement initiatives.

About you

• Experience in CAD drafting, or a related engineering role.

• Proficiency with CAD software such as SolidWorks, Inventor, AutoCAD, or similar.

• Strong understanding of engineering principles and manufacturing processes.

• Ability to interpret engineering specifications and technical drawings.

• Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.

• High attention to detail and commitment to quality.

• Experience within the marine, manufacturing, construction, or industrial sectors (desirable).

• Knowledge of fabrication, sheet metal design, insulation systems, or fire protection products (desirable).
