About the Job

At Tasman Butchers, our butchers are at the heart of what we do. They play a vital role in delivering the quality products, craftsmanship and service delivery for our customers.

We're looking for someone who can process large quantities of meat (beef, lamb, pork and goat primals) amongst a team of skilled butchers and personable butchers who take pride in their trade and enjoy engaging with customers in a retail environment.

The Right Person Will Have

• Experience as a qualified butcher with strong breaking abilities and knife skills.

• A passion for the trade and a willingness to coach and develop apprentices and less experienced team members.

• An absolute commitment to delivering exceptional customer service.

• A genuine passion for meat and the confidence to share product knowledge, cooking advice and recommendations with customers.

• A commitment to maintaining high standards of food safety, hygiene and presentation.

• A reliable and committed approach to their work.

As a large business we have opportunities to extend your training further into managerial positions for the right candidates.

Your Responsibilities

• Processing traditional retail and speciality cuts and trimming meat to a high standard.

• Preparing carcass stock and value-added products.

• Delivering friendly, knowledgeable and professional customer service.

• Maintaining a clean, safe and organised work environment.

• Working collaboratively with your team to consistently deliver the quantity and quality products.
