Industrial Electrician – Maintenance Team

Australian Plastic Profiles Pty Ltd is a leading manufacturer of Pipe King PVC pressure pipes, fittings, profiles and conduits for the building and telecommunications industries. The company, part of the Legrand international group, has a national presence with production centered in Sydney’s Sutherland Shire.

APP is seeking a qualified Industrial Electrician to join our Maintenance Team. This is an excellent opportunity for a hands-on tradesperson who enjoys working in a fast-paced production environment and is passionate about equipment reliability, safety, and continuous improvement.

As a key member of the maintenance team, you will be responsible for carrying out both planned preventative maintenance and reactive breakdown maintenance on a variety of production and plant equipment, ensuring maximum uptime and operational efficiency.

About the Role

Reporting to the Maintenance Manager, you will work closely with production and engineering teams to maintain, troubleshoot and improve manufacturing equipment across the facility.

Key responsibilities include:

• Performing preventative maintenance activities in accordance with maintenance schedules.

• Responding to equipment breakdowns and carrying out fault-finding and repairs.

• Diagnosing electrical, control, and instrumentation faults on production machinery.

• Maintaining motors, drives, sensors, control systems, switchboards, and electrical equipment.

• Supporting equipment installations, upgrades, and commissioning projects.

• Assisting with continuous improvement initiatives to enhance equipment reliability and performance.

• Accurately completing maintenance records, reports, and work orders.

• Ensuring all work is completed safely and in compliance with company and statutory requirements.

About You

To be successful in this role, you will have:

• Electrical Trade Qualification as an Electrician, Industrial Electrician, or equivalent.

• Current NSW Electrical Licence.

• Experience working in a manufacturing, industrial or production environment.

• Strong electrical fault-finding and diagnostic skills.

• Experience with PLC-controlled equipment, motors, VSDs, sensors, and industrial automation systems.

• Ability to interpret electrical drawings and technical documentation.

• A strong commitment to workplace safety and quality standards.

• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.

• A proactive approach to problem-solving and continuous improvement.

• To work weekends on a rotating roster to support operational requirements

    Desirable experience includes:

• PLC programming and troubleshooting experience.

• Instrumentation knowledge.

• Experience with CMMS or maintenance management systems.

• Exposure to automated production lines and conveyor systems.
