About the role
A lean, specialised B2B organisation (~60 employees) is seeking an experienced HR Business Partner for a 12-month maternity cover. This is a senior role with genuine complexity — ideal for someone who can balance strategic work with hands-on oversight in a fast-moving environment.
The role
You'll be the senior HR lead locally, partnering closely with executives and global HR teams. With leadership changes underway and increased governance requirements, you'll provide stability, direction and pragmatic HR support across the business.
You'll oversee a capable HR/WHS Advisor who manages operations, while you focus on stakeholder management, complex ER, committee work and global HR processes.
Key responsibilities
· Partner with senior leaders; coach, advise and influence
· Lead HR governance: Executive Committee, Remuneration Committee, D&I
· Manage complex ER, performance issues and sensitive matters
· Oversee HR operations, payroll accuracy and compliance
· Deliver global HR cycles: performance, engagement, D&I, succession
· Run the annual bonus cycle (calibration + spreadsheet calculations)
· Localise global policies and push back where needed
· Support change initiatives and ad hoc executive requests
· Drive retention and key-person dependency work
What you bring
· Strong HR generalist capability with senior stakeholder confidence
· Experience in complex, ambiguous or global/matrix environments
· Ability to switch between strategic and operational work
· Sound judgement, pragmatism and relationship-building skills
· Comfort with manual systems and non-integrated processes
· A steady presence during organisational change
Details
· 12-month fixed-term contract
· 4 days per week (0.8 FTE)
· Hybrid: 50% WFH
· September start with a one-month handover
· Mid-$100Ks base + super (pro-rated)
