Shoal Bay Pharmacy is seeking a pharmacist who enjoys working in an excellent community pharmacy and would also value opportunities to develop their skills beyond routine dispensing.

The position offers a blend of dispensary practice, patient care and professional services, with flexibility to shape the role around your experience, interests and career goals.

A varied and supported role

Dispensary practice will be an important part of your position. You will provide safe and efficient dispensing, patient counselling and clinical support, working alongside other pharmacists, experienced dispensary technicians and knowledgeable pharmacy staff.

Depending on your interests, the role may also include:

Pharmacist-led consultations and expanded scope

• Medication-management and aged-care services

• Vaccination and medication administration

• Dose administration aids and adherence support

• Community outreach and healthcare partnerships

• Professional-services coordination

• Team leadership and workflow improvement

You do not need experience in every area. Structured onboarding, mentoring and support for additional training and credentialling will be available.

An opportunity to make the role your own

For the right pharmacist, this position can develop into broader responsibility across professional services, aged care on-site roles, community engagement and leadership.

You may work with local GPs, nurses, allied health professionals, aged-care providers and community organisations to strengthen referral pathways and help patients access valuable pharmacy services.

You may also gain experience with healthcare technology supporting patient follow-up, clinical documentation and more efficient pharmacy workflows.

Our current Professional Services Coordinator will provide a direct handover, helping you build confidence in the role without expecting you to know everything from day one.

About you

You will need:

• Current unrestricted pharmacist registration with AHPRA

• Sound dispensing and clinical judgement

• A warm, patient-centred approach

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills

• Attention to detail and a collaborative attitude

• A willingness to learn and contribute

Vaccination accreditation and additional credentials are highly regarded but not essential.

We welcome experienced pharmacists, recently registered pharmacists, pharmacists returning to community practice and those completing further training.

A roster that leaves room for life

The usual weekday roster is Monday to Friday, 9 am–5 pm, with a 30-minute lunch break.

Weekend work is shared and generally around one weekend per month:

• Saturday: 9 am–2 pm

• Sunday: 9 am–1 pm

We recognise that people have families, caring responsibilities and commitments outside work. Roster arrangements will be discussed openly, with the aim of creating a predictable and sustainable working week.
