Teacher - Senior English and Literature

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced and passionate Senior English and Literature Teacher to join the English and Languages Faculty at Sheldon College.

This role is ideally suited to an outstanding educator with demonstrated experience teaching Senior English and Literature. Working alongside a passionate team of dedicated educators, you will deliver engaging, evidence-based learning experiences that challenge students to think critically, communicate with confidence and achieve exceptional academic outcomes.

This role includes responsibility for student safety and wellbeing, requiring compliance with the College's Child Safe Standards, policies and procedures, and all relevant legislative and duty of care obligations.

This is a Permanent role commencing Term 1, 2027.

About you

• Relevant tertiary teaching qualifications in English; 
• Current registration with the Queensland College of Teachers (QCT);
• Demonstrated experience teaching Senior English and Literature;
• Strong knowledge of the ACARA and QCAA curriculum, assessment and moderation requirements;
• Proven ability to deliver engaging, evidence-based teaching that achieves strong student outcomes;
• Passion for academic excellence and high-quality teaching and learning.
• Ability to differentiate learning and foster critical thinking, creativity and strong communication skills.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to build positive relationships with students, parents and colleagues.
• Collaborative approach with a willingness to contribute to a high-performing faculty.
• High standards of professionalism, integrity and reflective practice.
