Early Childhood Teacher (ECT)

About the role

Key Responsibilities:

• Plan, implement and evaluate a play-based, inclusive educational program in line with the NYLF an NQF

• Observe, assess and document each child’s learning and development to inform curriculum planning.

• Lead and mentor Educators in the room, sharing knowledge of early childhood theory and best practices

• Design safe, engaging indoor and outdoor learning environments that reflect children’s interest and capabilities.

• Build strong, collaborative relationships with families and the community to support each child’s learning.

• Uphold safety, wellbeing and mandatory reporting requirements, always acting in the best interests of the child.

• Support the Assistant Director and Educational Leader with day-to-day service operations, including NQF compliance and the Quality Improvement Plan.

Skills and Experience:

• Successful candidates will also have:

  • Must hold a Bachelor of Education (Early Childhood) or Master of Teaching (Early Childhood)

  • (HLTAID009) Provide CPR

  • (HLTAID012) Provide First Aid in Education and Care setting

  • Certificate of completion of “Responding to Risks of Harm, Abuse and Neglect” (RRHAN) training

  • DHS – Working with Children Check

  • National Child Safety Training (through GECCKO)

  • Knowledge around the Flying Start programme would be an advantage but not essential
