About the Employment Register:
This Employment Register is an online portal where you can express your interest in full-time or part-time opportunities within the Department. Opportunities may include:
We offer fixed-term appointments of up to 12 months, providing the opportunity to step into meaningful work quickly while gaining valuable experience across the Department.

About the Role:
The Workforce Services team is looking for experienced Human Resource practitioners to fill short term vacancies that arise within the Human Resource Business Partners and Human Resources Consultant teams. These are roles where your ideas matter, your expertise is valued, and your work directly contributes to creating a positive experience for our people
Following the Public Sector Reform, these teams will be undergoing a period of transformation over the next twelve months to combine the teams into one dynamic and values‑driven team helping to shape the workforce culture of the Department of Housing and Works.
You’ll partner closely with leaders across the business to deliver contemporary, values‑based HR services. From supporting recruitment and selection, to guiding leaders through performance and employee relations matters, you’ll play a key role in strengthening our culture and helping teams thrive. Every day brings new challenges and opportunities, and you’ll have the flexibility to adapt, innovate, and find practical solutions within public sector frameworks.
You’ll also contribute to broader workforce initiatives—analysing HR trends, supporting change projects, and helping shape strategies that influence how we work now and into the future. Your insights will help us build a more inclusive, collaborative, and high‑performing organisation.
