FIFO Electrician - Camp Maintenance (Remote Site) - WA based

Australian Portable Camps is a South Australian based, vertically integrated innovative manufacturer that operates throughout Australia.

We currently have a vacancy for an experienced Electrician to join our camp maintenance team servicing the various camps within the Pilbara  -FIFO Perth or nearest major airport.

Immediate start (for the successful applicant)  

The position

• Mine camp electrical maintenance

• Conducting routine inspections of premises and equipment including power, water, sewer, gas, fire and communications

• Performing preventative camp maintenance

• Handling basic repairs and maintenance

• Undertake day to day preventative/reactive maintenance

• Fault diagnostic works on the camp including maintenance and refurbishment

• Reporting

• Safety analysis

• You will be responsible for looking after all areas that you would find in a small town, in a remote area and in conditions that will be challenging at times

Qualifications

• WA A Class Electrical Licence (Minimum)

• Dual trades with Certificate III in Air Conditioning and Refrigeration (UEE32220) highly desirable

• Experience in Facilities Maintenance (min 2 years highly desirable) and Commercial Electrical

• Must have a current driver’s licence, white card and hepatitis vaccinations

• WA contractor’s licence - preferred

• Machinery tickets and High Risk licences will be viewed favourably

• Experience in the construction or maintenance of portable camps preferred

• CPR LVR and First Aid mandatory

• Rio Tinto inducted preferred but not essential

• 4WD ticket preferred

• Working at Heights preferred but not essential

Essential needs

• White Card

• Mandatory Inductions required before site entry

• Full medical and lab tested Drug and Alcohol screen

• Ability to work in the heat

• Ability to work in a small team and independently

• Willingness to be vaccinated for Hep A and Hep B, Tetanus if not already

This role is FIFO from nearest major airport.  WA residents are encouraged to apply.
