About the role
The Public Health Registrar (public health training position) will support the planning, implementation and evaluation of QAIHC Public Health Policy interventions including:Provision of guidance and written analyses of policy and reform initiatives by national and state governments impacting Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Primary Health Care and Well-Being programs and service delivery modelsProvide leadership in development and promotion of best practice service delivery models and clinical service standards across a network of senior clinicians in regional bodies and member services.Provide public health and medical advice and support consistent with current best or evidence-based practice to member services and relevant QAIHC programs.Facilitate links between QAIHC, member services and PHUs, NGOs, universities and relevant government departments.Provide support and mentoring to public health, health promotion and clinical staff at QAIHC and in member services.
Essential CriteriaTertiary qualifications Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS), supported by significant professional experience (typically 3+ years) in clinical medicine/general practice and/or Aboriginal Community Controlled Health Service, with proven capability in managing complex people and organisational outcomes.Master’s degree in public health medicine (MPH or MPH&TM)Acceptance into the Australian Faculty of Public Health Medicine (RACP) Advanced Training ProgramProven experience managing resources and stakeholder relationshipsCurrent unrestricted driver’s licenceWillingness to undergo a National Police CheckWillingness to obtain and maintain a Blue Card if required
Desirable Criteria:Experience working within Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander community-controlled organisations, government or complex service delivery environments
