Department Managers / All rounders

About the role

This is an exciting opportunity to join goods grocer' as a Department Manager / All rounder at our Keilor East or Altona store. As a Department Manager / All rounder, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the smooth and efficient running of our retail operations. With a focus on customer service, you will lead and motivate your team to deliver an exceptional shopping experience for our valued customers.

What you'll be doing

1. Oversee the day-to-day operations of your assigned department(s), ensuring targets and key performance indicators are met

2. Manage, coach and develop a team of retail assistants, fostering a positive and productive work environment

3. Maintain stock levels, order replenishments, and ensure efficient merchandising and presentation of products

4. Assist with cash management, banking and other administrative duties as required

5. Provide exceptional customer service, handling queries and resolving any issues that may arise

6. Contribute to the development and implementation of department-specific strategies and initiatives

7. Collaborate with other department managers and the store management team to achieve overall store objectives

What we're looking for

1. Proven experience in a retail management or supervisory role, preferably within the grocery or FMCG industry (coles, woolworths, IGA, foodworks or local grocer experience)

2. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively lead and motivate a team

3. Excellent customer service orientation and problem-solving skills

4. Proficient in inventory management, merchandising, and administrative tasks

5. Flexible and adaptable, with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment

6. A passion for the retail industry and a commitment to delivering exceptional customer experiences
