About the role
Role Description This is an entry-level, part-time Graduate Software Engineer role based in Sydney, NSW, with a hybrid work arrangement that allows some work from home. The Graduate Software Engineer will support the design, development, and maintenance of web-based software solutions that power the Bankopedia.pk platform. Day-to-day tasks include implementing back-end features, writing and testing code, fixing bugs, and collaborating with senior engineers on software improvements. The role also involves participating in code reviews, contributing to documentation, and ensuring that applications are secure, performant, and scalable. The successful candidate will work closely with cross-functional teams to align technical solutions with educational and business goals.QualificationsStrong foundation in Computer Science, including core concepts such as data structures, algorithms, and software engineering principles.Practical experience or academic exposure to Software Development and Programming, preferably using modern languages (e.g., Java, Python, JavaScript, or similar).Knowledge of Back-End Web Development, including server-side frameworks, APIs, and database integration.Understanding of Object-Oriented Programming (OOP) concepts and ability to apply them to real-world projects.Ability to learn quickly, take feedback constructively, and work collaboratively in a hybrid team environment.Good problem-solving, debugging, and analytical skills, with attention to code quality and documentation.Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related discipline (recent graduates and final-year students are encouraged to apply).Interest in the banking and financial sector, particularly Islamic, commercial, or microfinance banking, is an advantage.
