Retail Assistant Casual

LOCATION:  North-West Coast

City Mission is seeking a casual retail assistant for our Mission and Resale shops across the North West. The successful applicants will be available for ‘ONCALL’ casual work Monday to Saturday and able to travel to our shops in various locations across the North-West coast from Devonport through to Wynyard.

SELECTION CRITERIA

Essential Qualifications/Experience:

• Experience in Customer Service.

• Demonstrated experience in Retail Operations including POS systems and EFTPOS.

• Demonstrated initiative, thinking and planning.

• Ability to follow legislation pertaining to Retail Operations and Work Health and Safety requirements.

• Ability to operate within a diverse team.

• Drivers Licence and own vehicle preferable.

• Where required physically fit to transfer donations (cartons and furniture) to transport and showrooms.

• National Police Check is required for all roles at LCM.

• Registration to Work with Vulnerable People is required for all roles at LCM.

Desirable Qualifications/Experience:

• Experience or demonstrated capacity to work in an organisation adopting a Christian ethos.

• First aid certificate (or willingness to obtain).

• Team Leader or training experience.

The position is required to assist in one or more of City Mission’s retail shops in the delivery of quality retail goods and service. Primarily, a retail assistant will be responsible for: customer service, merchandising, maintaining and ordering stock, opening and closing the shop, and operation of equipment.
